Two almost reviews. Pre-reviews, I guess.

I’ve owned my Sony Reader for about 3 weeks now, and I have to say that I’m pleased with my purchase. It lives in my purse; when I’m waiting for an appointment, eating a meal out alone, or on a short break it is always close at hand. So far, I’ve got plenty of free content for it, too. I need to spend some quality time with the manual though-I can’t figure out how to make a .pdf any bigger, so readability of those files is an issue. I’m also not getting the kind of battery life that was advertised, which doesn’t surprise me at all, really. I think an AC adapter is in my near future, just to speed up the charging process. I’d love to see applications made available for it as well, like you can buy or download for the iPhone. Since it is a 700, it’s got a touch screen, so why can’t I buy a crossword puzzle and/or Sudoko app? Maybe I’m just not looking in the right place. I’m certainly not using it to its full capacity yet; expect more information as I get a greater familiarity with the Reader.

It has not replaced actual books for me of course-currently I’m deep into Richard Morgan’s Black Man, courtesy of my older brother. Much like Morgan’s Altered Carbon, this is really a cross-genre novel and I’m finding it hard to put down. A full review to come when I’m finished.
